- Development and repositioning of the international airport without flight time restrictions including the adjacent industrial zone
- Development and construction of municipal utilities in the industrial zone
- Development and construction of a SAF production facility and a green hydrogen hub (30-50 MW)
- Use of existing geothermal boreholes
- Development and construction of logistics and distribution centers for air freight
- Development and construction of technology and manufacturing hubs for Airbus and Lufthansa Technik partner companies
- Development and construction of a business center for suppliers and innovative startups
- No flight time restrictions
Project status
City council resolution, basic investigation and the essential pre-contractual agreements have been made
Land use and development plans are in progress and some have already been completed
Project companies are being founded
March 29, 2025 is the centenary of the international airport
Next step
Decision of all project partners for the proposed concept with the above project content
Financing, funding acquisition and preparation of feasibility studies with economic analysis, investment cost estimates and meaningful preliminary planning of all components of the above-mentioned project content.
